Challenge yourself !

Sometimes it's hard to find inspiration. Those times where you're at a loss at what to shoot. As said before there are many ways to collect new ideas:
  • Listen to music
  • Watch a movie
  • Browse 500px
But there is another way to get new pictures when you don't have that much inspiration. Set yourself a (photo) challenge!

Here are some examples:

  1. Go to the nearest town and make pictures from all the things you see in that town
    - Architecture
    - People
    - Events (Markets)
  2. Go to a place and stay in one spot. Make 10 to 15 pictures from all what you see around you. This can give some unexpected results.
  3. Go to a place and walk around for exactly 15 minutes and make pictures. Because the limited amount of time it's wise not to hesitate. Just go with your instincts and shoot what you think is interesting.

  4. Do something different. Sit down and write down things you really want to shoot. Don't wait but just do it. Here are some examples:
    - 10 portrait shots with a model
    - 10 sport pictures of the local soccer team
    - 10 pictures from people in the city.
  5. Get out of your comfort zone. Do something that you usually don't do. So if you're a landscape photographer make some portraits in a studio. Or ask 10 persons in the street if you can take their picture. Maybe way out of your comfort zone but a great way to learn a lot of new things.
